| In
the Philippines Omni Insurance Brokers has operated since 1979
as an ALL Lines insurance brokerage firm specializing in individual
and group Medical Plans. OMNI was and continues to be instrumental
in encouraging and assisting new and existing locally registered underwriting
companies to develop better-designed Medical Insurance and HMO plans
in general. Omni can be credited with playing a helpful and active
role in introduction to the local markets many new plans and designs.
Most still flourish to this day. These developments include Medical
Insurance 3-10 day claim service, insurance firm direct claim payment
to listed hospitals, the first formal HMO, combination HMO / Insurance
plans, use of 24hr Assistance firms for direct claim settlement, plans
to more meaningful benefit limits, supplement cover for major cases,
and others. In more recent years, Omni promoted to a number of underwriters the community's ever present and growing need for an International level and application of medical insurance coverage. Two firms (Blue Cross and CGU - both in the Philippines) now offer International Medical Insurance plans in US Dollar currency that finally fill this real need in the local marketplace. Others will hopefully follow. Now residents of the Philippines can easily obtain Medical Plans that will cover them anywhere in the world. OMNI's role (as a Broker & Liaison) with its associates in the Philippines is twofold: 1. As a Broker - introduce to Philippine residents locally-registered available medical plans for both local and now (most recently) international applications to include full brokerage pre and post purchase services. 2. Liaison - assist visitors or residents of the Philippines (or whilst they are traveling abroad) who have obtained their Int'l medical plans locally or overseas by providing information and guidance on administrative and claim issues as a liaison for an educative, instructive and specialized Medical Plan (information) Bureau. |
