Families with 2 or more especially younger children can save
medical plan premium
· Groups of principals including dependent family members
can obtain discounts
A select number of Medical Insurance and Healthcare plan companies
offer special low premium rates for larger families with 2, and
especially more, children being enrolled along with both parents.
They apply the low premium feature differently and are briefly explained
in the following descriptions.
Two
companies allow the first 2 children between the ages of 14 days
to 9 years free of charge coverage when both parents, or guardians,
are insured.
One company allows up to 4 children under 10 years (2 per paying
adult), who live with their parents, coverage free of charge under
their parent's policy, provided they are included on the application
form. If the childbirth-waiting period is satisfied, newborn children
will automatically be covered from birth.
One company allows coverage for up to 4 children, all who are
below the age of 18 years, for a single child premium rate.
One company allows a premium discount of 10% for small group plans
of 5-20 people enrolled (or) 20% for groups exceeding 20 people
enrolled. Children enrolled count towards meeting the qualifying
total number of "people enrolled" to obtain either of the two
discounts.
